Why Locals Love Salvadorean Bakery & Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Seattle's vibrant neighborhood, Salvadorean Bakery & Restaurant at 1719 SW Roxbury St offers an authentic taste of El Salvador that captivates both locals and visitors alike. This charming eatery is a haven for those seeking rich, hearty Central American flavors, especially in their thoughtfully curated breakfast menu.
Start your morning with their Carne Deshilada, a sumptuous shredded beef scramble infused with sautéed onions, bell peppers, and garlic. Each bite bursts with savory depth, perfectly complemented by the side of traditional casamiento—a flavorful medley of seasoned beans and rice—plus sweet plantains, cool sour cream, and warm tortillas. Another standout is the Casamiento (Desayuno), where the homely combination of whole beans and rice is elevated by fresh cheese and eggs, delivering a comforting yet vibrant dish packed with textural contrasts and deep, familiar flavors.
For those craving something with a bit of spice and zest, the Chorizo con Huevo pairs savory Salvadorean sausage with fluffy scrambled eggs, mingling the earthy sweetness of plantains with fresh onions, green peppers, and tomato. Each plate delivers a gratifying balance of smoky and fresh tastes, set within a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that feels like stepping into a Salvadorean kitchen.
But beyond the savory offerings, the bakery shines with its legendary desserts. Regulars rave about the Mango Tres Leches, describing it as moist and delicately sweet, where the tropical mango teases the palate just enough to elevate the traditionally creamy cake. Reviewers like Karthik Kadappan and Kul RN insist it’s the best Tres Leches in Seattle—a melt-in-your-mouth masterpiece that lingers in your memory long after the last forkful.
Longtime patrons like Byron Jennings speak fondly of the bakery’s 30-year legacy, praising the friendly staff and unbeatable value, especially their famous pupusas and festive giveaways during anniversary celebrations. Meanwhile, new visitors, such as RickJ and james norton, quickly become fans thanks to the inviting breakfasts and expertly crafted espresso that pairs beautifully with the bakery’s vast array of cakes and pastries.
Salvadorean Bakery & Restaurant is more than just a place to eat—it’s an immersive experience where every dish tells a story of heritage, passion, and community. Whether you’re indulging in a savory breakfast or treating yourself to one of their exquisite baked delights, the warm hospitality and vibrant flavors leave a lasting impression that beckons you to return again and again.

Best Tres Leches place in Seattle! Definitely try their Mango Tres Leches!!

Salvadorean Bakery and Restaurant Inc. absolutely deserves a 5-star rating! I recently had the pleasure of trying their mango tres leches cake, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The cake was incredibly moist, with a rich, creamy texture and just the right amount of mango flavor — sweet but not overpowering. It truly melted in my mouth with every bite. The quality and balance of flavors were spot-on, showing how much care and expertise goes into their baking. Their pastries are also perfection. Each one I’ve tried has had a great taste and texture — from flaky layers to the perfect amount of sweetness. I have a bit of a sweet tooth, and this place hit every mark. What really surprised me was how much my 2-year-old nephew enjoyed the cake. He usually isn’t a fan of sweets or cakes, but he kept asking for more bites. That alone speaks volumes! The bakery is warm and inviting, with a great selection that showcases authentic Salvadoran flavors alongside classic favorites. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again to try something new each time. Whether you’re stopping in for a treat or celebrating something special, Salvadorean Bakery and Restaurant Inc. is a must-visit. Highly recommend to anyone who appreciates delicious, well-made desserts!

I've been going to this bakery since I was a teenager. Absolutely amazing food, friendly staff, great prices, and the tres leches is amazing. Best pupusas around too. They just celebrated their 30th anniversary and were giving away free swag and pastries.

A few days ago was my first time. Breakfast with eggs, beans, chorizo, plantains was very good! Will definitely be back for their bakery items - which look amazing!

There is a new layout in which the order counter is on the right side and you can see the workers putting the fresh pupusas on the griddle on the left. I love coming here with my family and being immersed in community of white center. The pupusas are piping hot and I love the cortido “slaw” and salsa roja. The cheese, zucchini and chicken pupusas are my favorite and enjoy the fluffy rice and slightly airy taste prep of the beans. This time around the fried pork was tough and really crispy. The banana leaf chicken tamale was mushy and slightly too moist. I chock this up to an off day. I usually have no issues with the food and support local. 5 stars all around.

My boyfriend and I stopped by cause they had an offer for a free drink, tamale, pupusa or quesadilla grande and we wanted to try it out. We opted for the drink as we were heading to a friend's for dinner. I got the ensalada while my boyfriend got the horchata and I appreciated how the cashier asked if we wanted ice or not. We also saw some cute Halloween decorated conchas and saw that for four of them was 9.95 so got that to share with our friends. The conchas were delicious and not too sweet. There was plenty of parking near the location. When you enter, you see the restaurant half which is a lovely, cozy space that can seat many customers of all party sizes. They have a section for napkins, utensils and to go boxes too. If you go to the left, that is the bakery as well as small store of different goodies. They had all types of pastries, cakes, and snacks that you can choose from. The prices seem fair. When we entered the bakery side, the employees welcomed us and told us to let them know if we have any questions. Very friendly and quick service! We definitely want to come back to try their pastries, cakes, and food again. They also do have a point system that you can sign up for to get discounts and even a birthday reward too.

The cakes are incredibly delicious, the closest thing to my beautiful Guadalajara. I would definitely eat another slice of tres leches cake.
